Frida Kahlo at the Denver Art Museum

I am so fortunate I had the opportunity to visit the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Denver Art Museum yesterday. The exhibit is filled with inspirational paintings, photographs and drawings from Frida and many other Mexican artists. She was known to some as the “heroine of pain” her story, life and art demand attention. Soulful, raw, and symbolic each piece of artwork is flooded with political and personal statements. I am always amazed when I get to see art in person. Art that I have studied in books for years. Experiencing artwork is so special. You not only connect to the art but you get to see and understand the artist in an entirely new light.

Below are some photographs from the museum to inspire.
