Art Passports

Will you join me in my journey to explore the world from your art studio?

I love to travel! Since we can’t always be on the go, I decided to dedicate time monthly to art projects related to a specific country. Being an enneagram 5 or an “Investigator” I dive into research to find out more about a country and its culture. If I haven’t already visited the country, I begin research on places to visit, textiles, foods, local flora and fauna, language, sayings, books, music etc. either online, at our local library, or through friends and family that have lived or visited the area. Once I have a background on the country, I storyboard my ideas both on Pinterest and on my wall in my studio. Next, I select a color palette that to me embodies the country’s culture and spirit. Finally, it is time to create! I love working on an abstract, an expressive portrait, flora and fauna sketches, and a landscape or cityscape.

Since I want to include my kids in the process and educate them on different places and cultures, I also create monthly art and craft projects for them, a list of facts or videos for them to watch, and we do a monthly family dinner to reflect the country’s cuisine.

Join me on my Art Passports adventure!
